Biography
Alison Turk is a composer, pianist and vocalist born in Alberta, Canada, who has devoted her life to her craft. She gave her first vocal performance at two years old and began playing the piano shortly after, laying a basis for a career that would take her in multiple musical directions. In her teens she took on her first choir directorial role, which would expand to include various choirs for which she composed, directed, accompanied and recorded. Some of her first forays into composition included several musical productions, for which she composed the score for choir and ensemble. She spent many years producing, arranging and accompanying for various performers as well as working extensively in recording studios on ensemble albums.
After many years as a music director, Alison spent eight seasons performing with the Edmonton Opera, performing in corporate cover bands, and doing freelance keyboard and vocal work for various performance and recording artists. Her continued composing/arranging work for choral, as well as her many years of studio work have made her evolution into orchestral composition a natural evolution, and one which has been ultimately, the most fulfilling. As her first totally solo musical endeavor, Lineage and the album to follow, have been the culmination of Alison's life experience.
